Contemporary Photography in Hawai’i 2019
Contemporary Photography in Hawai’i 2019 was juried by Matt Mallams, Photo Editor of Hana Hou! magazine. He chose 49 images for the exhibition and I am honored that he included my photograph titled Wong’s Produce.
Matt Mallams said:
“The criteria I used for the jury were: content, originality, and personal vision…
The selected images ask us to look, feel, and reflect upon where we are now, in this time and place.”
Wong’s Produce is part of the No Outlet series where I look at the impact of an extensive building boom going on in Honolulu and how it is changing the face of the city in the name of development and urban renewal.
Contemporary Photography in Hawai‘i 2019 the Eleventh Annual Survey Exhibition Sponsored by Pacific New Media Foundation will be on display at THE ARTS at Marks Garage from August 1 to 31, 2019.
